E4X Transaction and Money Flow

The process initiated when using the E4X technology flows in a clear and logical manner
that mirrors the ease with which it can be integrated into all major e-commerce platforms.
The following flow chart illustrates the process:

1 The E4X SDK is installed at the merchant’s web site and communicates with the E4X Server.
2 Once installed, the E4X SDK requests updated currency rates (at intervals selected by the merchant) from the E4X Server using XML formatted messages over an HTTP/S session.
3 Using E4X updated rates and a set of tools included in the E4X SDK merchants display prices on their online catalog.
4 The online credit card transaction is submitted and processed in the customer’s local currency. E4X does not interfere with the transaction flow at any point.
5 The merchant’s e-commerce application submits currency data relating to the transaction to E4X via the SDK. The E4X Server reconciles this data with transaction settlement information received from the merchant’s acquirer.
6 The acquirer settles local currency funds to E4X. E4X converts these funds to multiple currencies to be settled to the merchant, its vendors, affiliates and other beneficiaries, each in their currency of choice.
7 E4X provides detailed online reports that specify cash flows and individual transaction details in all participating currencies.

Security

Peace of Mind is Built-in

Security of data is our paramount concern. For this reason, both software and system have been designed from the ground up to ensure that industry standards are not only met, but exceeded.

Secured Communications

Communication between the E4X solution components is conducted over HTTP/S channels, ensuring 128 bit SSL encryption of all data passing between E4X and its clients.

Authenticated Access to Server Processes

Communication requests by E4X SDK and access to reporting are authenticated by the E4X Server. Authentication is performed against a pre-assigned username and password as well as the IP address of the requesting client. Authentication is conducted over SSL, passwords are one-way encrypted at the E4X Server.

No Capture of Sensitive Data

E4X does not require or capture credit card information or other sensitive data of the merchants or their customers. E4X does not interfere with the payment processing flow.

Data Center Security

Server applications are deployed on 4 distinct tiers, located in separate security zones and deployed for complete redundancy. Tightly configured firewall rules regulate traffic between tiers. Fault-tolerant networks and systems ensure 24/7 processing.

Fully Authorized Access to Financial Data

Authorization policies at the E4X server allow merchants to selectively configure access by their employees to data exposed in E4X Web Reports.

Commerce Compatibility

The E4X SDK can be deployed on all major server platforms and interfaces with leading gateways and payment processors

Operating Systems / Web Technology Compatibility

The following table summarizes the operating systems supported

by the E4X SDK:

Web Technology

Windows NT,

Windows 2000,

Windows XP.

Unix/Linux

*Installation on Windows is done by an automatic setup utility
