Michael DeSimone
Chief Executive Officer
Michael has made his mark in foreign exchange services and international payments with a career that spans almost twenty years and includes an impressive record of innovations and accomplishments. As CEO, he is charged with developing and implementing strategies that will dramatically expand both the company's service offering and its customer base, building a robust foundation for the future. Joining E4X in 2004 as SVP of Sales Marketing, Michael quickly proved he had the skills, the capacity and the vision to lead the company. He has worked closely with many tier one organizations including Visa, JP Morgan Chase, Bank of New York and the Royal Bank of Scotland, providing him with a thorough understanding of the criteria that must be met to be best in the business. Prior to joining E4X, he held key roles in sales, product development and technology with Travelex, Citibank and Thomas Cook Financial Services. He regularly provides commentary to publications on technology and international commerce, including Info World, the Wall Street Journal, American Banker and the New York Times. Michael holds a degree in Economics from the University of Buffalo and is a member of NACHA's global payments forum.
Gidi Argov
Senior Vice President, Finance
Gidi Argov leads E4X's finance division and is responsible for all of the company's finances, including financial planning, treasury, accounting, audit, legal and taxation. Mr. Argov has over ten year of financial management experience. Prior to joining E4X, he served as senior manager in PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he lead an audit department. There, he was responsible for managing IPO processes in Israel and in the U.S.A., yearly and periodically issuance of financial statements and tax returns, and due diligence performance of high tech and industrial companies. He also provided consulting services on International taxation, transfer pricing issues, tax conventions and foreign exchange transfers. Mr. Argov is a certified public accountant (Isr.) and holds a B.A. in Accounting and Economics (with honors) from Tel Aviv University.
Kris Green
Senior Vice President, Product and Marketing
Kris has responsibility for the company's market-driven innovation strategy, for the market-facing presentation of the E4X product portfolio and for growing and maintaining E4X's supplier and partner networks. Before joining E4X, Kris was a key contributor to Canada Post Borderfree's success. There, he was responsible for consulting with leading multi-channel retailers on international market expansion and contributed significantly toward the graduation of Borderfree from a start-up to a business unit of Canada Post. Kris is a thought leader on cross-border e-commerce and has participated in prominent speaking events. Prior to Canada Post Borderfree, Kris was at IBM Canada consulting with enterprise clients on e-commerce environment infrastructure and technology asset management. Kris holds an Honors Bachelor Degree from the University of Western Ontario in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Benny Pe-er
Senior Vice President, Technology
Benny brings to E4X over 12 years of experience in the development of new technologies. As Senior Vice President, Technology, Benny is responsible for all technological aspects of E4X products and operations. Among his key duties are designing and evolving the underlying architecture of E4X technology, defining software interfaces with strategic third parties, managing software development and contributing to product development activities. Prior to joining E4X, Benny co-founded SiteCore, an Internet start-up company, and served as its chief technology officer. Earlier in his career, Benny led a product development team in Vcon, a developer and manufacturer of video over IP solutions. During his military service in the IDF, Benny developed software for the Intelligence and communication forces. He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Ben-Gurion University.
Jody Rochwarger
Executive Vice President
Jody opened the E4X New York office in 2000, and has been critical in building the business ever since. Today, as Executive Vice President, she is responsible for all front office operations, including Sales, Account Management, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships. After establishing the North American operation, Jody went on to focus her skills on the development of strategic partnerships, working closely with acquiring banks and payment processors to secure relationships, develop business strategies and educate the market. Jody proved instrumental in the acquisition of new business, preparing her to take on the wider role of building and managing a successful sales team, and having overall responsibility for development of new opportunities. Prior to E4X, Jody worked for TCExports, the buying office for DIY retailers in Israel, where she helped manage and grow the Home Depot account. Jody speaks English and Hebrew, and has lived in both Israel and the United States. She has a BA in Environmental Sciences from Barnard University in New York.
Shir Shamshtein
Vice President, Human Resources
Shir has had responsibility for Human Resources since 2006. This key role spans a broad spectrum including organizational structure and evolution, recruitment and placement, compensation, benefits, corporate communications, training and more. With E4X since its founding in 1999, Shir has had an important part in shaping the company's culture. In her previous role as the head of marketing, she came to realize that the company's brand is elementally an expression of its people. This gave rise to a passionate interest in Human Resources which has led her to her current role. Prior to joining E4X, Shir provided marketing consulting services to a number of financial and hi-tech companies, and also held a position as a legal counsel at a real-estate organization. Shir holds an L.L.B. from Tel Aviv University, an M.B.A. from Ben Gurion University, and an advertising diploma from the International Advertising Association.
Jurgis Vilis
Chief Technology Officer
Jurgis brings over 12 years of experience to E4X and is responsible for leading the company's software as a service product vision. Jurgis has applied a variety of technology driven solutions in multiple sectors. Most recently, he was focused on designing and building software products to help direct retailers sell to customers across borders as Vice President of Research & Development at Canada Post Borderfree. There he managed all aspects of the company's technology platform. Prior to Borderfree, Jurgis worked with Brightspark, helping start-up companies devise and drive their software design and implementation tactics. Prior to Brightspark, Jurgis led the eBusiness division at SRG Software, a Toronto based software consulting firm. Jurgis holds an Honors Bachelor Degree from the University of Western Ontario in Economics.
